La terrazza del B&B La cascata negli ulivi è dominata dal Monte Castello, uno dei migliori punti di osservazione sul Lago di Garda. Raggiungere la sommità a 800 metri slm regala grandi emozioni ed un panorama mozzafiato. Numerosi ospiti mi hanno chiesto varie volte informazioni su come seguire questo itinerario. Tra questi i simpatici Iris e Frank, provenienti dalla Germania. Desidero raccontarvi la loro esperienza. Si può raggiungere la vetta partendo da Navazzo e seguendo il sentiero n. 21. E' l'itinerario più veloce, in un'ora e mezza - 2 ore si raggiunge la vetta. Si può anche partire da Fornico seguendo il sentiero 41 che poi si unisce al 21. In questo caso bisogna programmare 3 ore di cammino per raggiungere la vetta. Queste erano le informazioni che avevo dato ad Iris e Frank durante la colazione. Loro però, in virtù della loro invidiabile forma fisica hanno pensato di partire direttamente dal B&B La cascata degli ulivi!. Si segue via Roina dalla frazione Roina e si raggiunge il caseggiato di Fornico e si segue il sentiero 41. Bisogna segnalare che sul finale, poco prima della vetta, il sentiero è attrezzato con delle funi e ci sono dei punti esposti. E' adatto ad escursionisti esperti e ben equipaggiati, ma non è pericoloso. E' necessario indossare scarponi da montagna ed attrezzatura tipica per il trekking. Ricordarsi sempre di portare acqua perchè non si incontrano sorgenti.

Durante l'escursione si possono scorgere scorci tipicamente gardesani, tra boschi e prati e con una vista sul Lago veramente fantastica. Il divertimento è assicurato. Grazie Iris e Frank per averci raccontato la vostra esperienza tra monti e sentieri del Lago di Garda.
